Securing the loan is one of the most demanding parts of purchasing a home. But it doesn't have to be. Having connections to some mortgage lenders in the Bayside area has helped me learn a lot of the things that can make the process of applying for a loan a snap.

1 – Make a list of questions about your loan program

Be sure you bring a list of questions with you if you find that you don't completely grasp the advantages and disadvantages of the different programs. 2 – Determine when you want to lock

When you lock in the rate, it indicates that the mortgage lender commits to the interest rates for the loan – usually at the time the loan application is sent in. By floating the rate, you can lock the rate at any time between the day of your loan application and at the time of closing. 4 – Bring your paperwork
